Facilities
Suren Das College, Hajo offers almost all basic
facilities.Facilities available are mentioned below:
* Library: It is well stock with more then 12 thousand text books and reference books more than a dozen of local and national news papers, journals, etc. The two-storied library building is under constriction and is expected to complete before August 2007. The ground floor of the library building will be used as reading room and the first floor will be used as stock. A space for reading room will exclusively be kept for teachers. The Library remains open for 6 hours i.e. from 10 a.m. to 4p.m. The Library is expanding its access to electronic and digital resources with Internet Connection. Suren Das College offers BEST READER AWARD to the student who makes the best use of the library in order to increase the reading habit among the students.
* Computer Learning Centre: The college going to set up a centre for Computer Course and willing student may avail it on payment of prescribed fees. Outside students may also avail this facility.
* Girls' Hostel: The college has Girls' Hostel. This
Girls' Hostel could accommodate 50 students.
* N.S.S.: The college has a National Service Scheme Unit. The unit works under an advisory body chained by the Principal. Ali Akbar Husain, Sr. Lecturer and Head of the English Department, is qualified Programme Officer of the Unit.
* Bharat Scout-Guide: The college has a Bharat Scout-Guide unit. The unit works under an advisory committee chaired by the Principal, Dr. Parul Das, Sr. Lecturer in Education is qualified Ranger Leader of the college Bharat Scout-Guide Unit.
* Extension Education : In accordance with the guide line of the U.G.C. an extension Education Forum has been constituted to bring into effect for various aspects of income generating programme for blooming up the local avenue or resources. An Advisory Committee has been formed to look looking after the functioning of the Extension Education.
* Post-Graduate Study Centre: The college has a contact centre for Post-Graduate Study under the post-Graduate Correspondence school, G.U. Prof. (Mrs) N. Chaliha, Head of the Political Science Department, is working as coordinator of the centre.
* Information and Career Guide Cell: To make students aware of employment opportunities and competition, an Information and Career Guide Cell has been opened in the college under the guidance of experienced and resourceful teachers. Prof. N. Kalita is the coordinator of the cell.
* Vocational Courses: In accordance with U.G.C's. drive for Vocational Courses as a measure of self-employment, Functional English Course is going on to make the students aware of the new job opportunities like report-writing, news-reading, broadcasting, drafting etc. The college proposes to introduce some job-oriented vocational courses from the current session
* Technology
